Martin, I was conflicted about this photo. Normally I wouldn’t manipulate a picture to produce an almost black (unnatural) sky but the straight shot just didn’t remind me of what first caught my eye. It’s that old argument advanced by those who argue that there is no objective reality – only a personal view of it – and that you can manipulate a photo as much as you want to get the effect you want – or as they would put it, what was in their minds eye when the saw the scene. As I say normally I don’t go for that line but in this instance I was tempted....and succumbed!
