This is a photograph of St Columb’s Cathedral in Derry which was built in 1633. It is the first Cathedral in the British 'Isles to have been built after the Reformation and is constantly on the skyline in Derry. This shot was taken from behind Hero’s Mound a sort of memorial erected to those who fought in the great siege of 1688, many of whom are buried in the adjoining grounds. For most of the day you are shooting into the sun to photograph this side of the church.
