Ameila

In 1932 Ameila Earhart became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic. She set out from Newfoundland and landed on this spot on the outskirts of Derry at about 1:30pm on 21 May. She had flown 2,026½ miles in a record time of 13½ hours.
